Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication provides an effective alternative for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by combination therapy of amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. Essential hypertension can pose risks to cardiovascular health, making proper blood pressure management critical. This medication helps to stabilize blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications. It offers personalized treatment for patients who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure, thereby improving their health status. Therefore, it is used as a reliable method for the treatment of essential hypertension.
This medication should be taken once daily, with or without food, along with water. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The maximum dose for amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil/hydrochlorothiazide is 10/40/25 mg. The maximum antihypertensive effect occurs within 2 weeks of administration, so dosage adjustments should be made at intervals of more than 2 weeks. The recommended dosage is 5/20/12.5 mg, 5/40 mg.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under the age of 18 have not been established, and its administration is not recommended.
This medication should not be used during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy as it can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn. Patients with an allergy to this medication or any of its components, or those with specific heart, kidney, or liver diseases should not take it. Patients with excessively low blood pressure or unstable conditions after acute myocardial infarction may also be at risk when taking this medication. Patients with low blood volume or electrolyte imbalances should be particularly cautious when starting this medication, and any symptoms of hypotension should be treated immediately. Patients with impaired kidney function or kidney transplant recipients should have their kidney function regularly monitored while taking this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function should avoid taking this medication. As this medication lowers blood pressure, caution is needed while driving or operating machinery, as dizziness may occur. Electrolyte levels in the blood should be regularly monitored during treatment with this medication to ensure there are no abnormalities. Particularly, potassium levels may become too high or too low, so caution is required when taking potassium supplements or medications that affect potassium excretion. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications, analgesics, and lithium preparations, so if you are taking other medications, consult a physician or pharmacist. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women, and it is advisable to avoid taking it while breastfeeding. For patients under 18 years of age, its safety and efficacy have not been established, so its use should be avoided. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to this medication, so dosage adjustments and careful monitoring are necessary. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur; immediate medical assistance should be sought.
