Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
Combination therapy using amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil is used for patients with essential hypertension, i.e., hypertension caused by intrinsic factors where blood pressure is not appropriately controlled. This medication helps effectively control hypertension by causing blood vessels to dilate and lowering blood pressure. When blood pressure is well controlled, it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and improve patients’ health.
This medication should be taken once daily, with or without food, along with water. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20/12.5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/20 mg combination therapy. - 5/40/12.5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/40 mg.
