This medication is used for adequately controlling blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension through a combination therapy of amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. How to take

Adult dose

This medication is taken once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended dosing is as follows: - 5/20/12.5mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with the combination therapy of amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/20mg. - 5/40/12.5mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with the combination therapy of amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/40mg.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed or while pregnant. Patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medication or similar classes of medications should not take it. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe hypotension, or those with acute cardiac issues or severe impairment of kidney and liver function should also avoid this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume, weak kidney function, certain heart valve diseases, liver diseases, or systemic lupus erythematosus should take special precautions and must be closely monitored while using this medication. This medication lowers blood pressure, which can lead to dizziness or lightheadedness; thus, caution should be exercised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. During the use of this medication, electrolyte levels in the blood and kidney function should be regularly checked, as there may be occurrences of elevated or decreased potassium levels. Additionally, this medication can interact with other drugs, so patients must inform their doctors or pharmacists about any other medications they are taking. Women who are breastfeeding are advised to avoid this medication, and if it must be taken, cessation of breastfeeding is recommended. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, symptoms may include severe hypotension, palpitations, and bradycardia, requiring immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment. Store this medication out of reach of children, and avoid moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
