Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This is a suitable treatment for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled even with the combined use of amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. This combination helps to dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure, reducing the burden on the heart and blood vessels. It can be especially used when monotherapy is insufficient to manage blood pressure effectively. This contributes to reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications and improving the overall health status of patients. Therefore, it is used for blood pressure control in essential hypertension.
This medication should be taken once daily as one tablet, with or without food. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The maximum dosage is 10/40/25mg of amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil/hydrochlorothiazide. The recommended dosing regimen is as follows: - 5/20/12.5mg: for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/20mg combination therapy.

Patients with allergies to this drug or its components, or those with certain heart, kidney, or liver diseases, should not take this medication. It may be dangerous to use this drug in cases of severely low blood pressure, acute heart failure, or severe kidney or liver dysfunction. Patients with decreased blood volume or electrolyte imbalances should be closely monitored for hypotension when starting this medication. This drug may affect kidney function, so patients with kidney problems or severe heart failure should regularly have blood tests to check kidney function and electrolyte levels. Patients with liver disease, especially those with progressive liver cirrhosis, require careful monitoring when taking this medication. Patients with eye diseases, particularly acute angle-closure glaucoma, should be cautious as some components of this medication may exacerbate symptoms. This drug may interact with certain medications, increasing the risk of side effects when taken with lithium, some analgesics, or other antihypertensives; therefore, consultation with healthcare professionals is essential. Dizziness, headaches, edema, gastrointestinal disturbances, and other side effects may occur during treatment, and any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. This medication is also available for elderly patients; however, as there may be decreased kidney or liver function, it is recommended to start at lower doses and monitor closely. Overdose may lead to severe hypotension or arrhythmias; therefore, adherence to dosage is vital, and if symptoms occur, immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container away from direct sunlight and moisture, out of reach of children, and it is advised not to change the container arbitrarily. If breastfeeding, it is recommended to discontinue either breastfeeding or this medication as the components may pass into breast milk.
