Corticosteroids are effective in relieving itching and inflammation caused by skin conditions that respond to corticosteroids. This medication reduces the skin's inflammatory response, quickly improves symptoms, and helps stabilize the patient's skin condition. It also alleviates itching, reducing discomfort and aiding skin recovery. With regular use, symptoms of skin conditions can be effectively controlled. This medication is used to improve symptoms of skin conditions.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply a thin layer to the affected area once a day and gently rub until completely absorbed. Avoid occlusive dressings.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, as it may worsen symptoms. Additionally, patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, or who have had hypersensitivity reactions, should not use it. Caution is advised for patients with eczematous otitis externa with a perforated eardrum, as wound healing may be delayed. It is also recommended not to use this medication in patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as skin regeneration may be delayed. Patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or perianal and genital itching should also avoid using this medication. It is considered safe not to use this medication in infants under 2 years of age. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should use this medication with caution, and infants, children, and the elderly should also use it with care. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, and patients with allergies to this substance should use it with caution. Skin infections may develop, and if symptoms of infection occur, use should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment sought. Various skin side effects such as skin irritation, rashes, itching, and redness may occur, and if such symptoms arise, use should be ceased. Long-term use may result in skin thinning or dilation of blood vessels; therefore, it is necessary to gradually reduce the dosage and switch to another medication. If this medication is used over a large area for an extended period or if occlusive dressings are used, it may suppress adrenal function affecting the entire body, necessitating regular examinations. Caution is required when using it around the eyes, as this may lead to increased intraocular pressure or the development of eye diseases such as glaucoma. Generally, it should not be used in eczema or dermatitis that is accompanied by skin infections; however, if absolutely necessary, it should be combined with infection treatment. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, use should be stopped immediately, and if symptoms improve, it is advisable to discontinue the medication as soon as possible. Patients experiencing blurred vision or visual disturbances after systemic or localized corticosteroid use should consult an ophthalmologist. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not well established; therefore, it should be avoided for prolonged use or on large areas. Caution is also necessary during breastfeeding. Children have a larger skin surface area compared to their weight, making them more susceptible to side effects, so it should not be used for more than 3 weeks; also, the occlusive effect of diapers should be taken into consideration. The elderly have a higher likelihood of side effects, so careful monitoring is especially necessary during extensive or prolonged use. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and is not recommended for use other than for skin treatment after makeup or shaving. Do not use occlusive dressings without a doctor's instruction, and when used, the affected area should be kept clean to reduce the risk of infection. Store in a safe place out of reach of children, and there is no evidence that this medication causes carcinogenic or genotoxic effects.
