Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and a physician must diagnose the cause of erectile dysfunction accurately through the patient's medical history and physical examination before use. Patients with heart disease may experience a burden on the heart during sexual activity; therefore, cardiovascular status must be thoroughly evaluated before taking this medication. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours or if there is painful erection lasting more than 6 hours after taking the medication, immediate medical attention should be sought, as untreated cases could lead to penile tissue damage and permanent loss of erectile function. This medication should not be taken with nitrate medications or medicines containing nitrates as it poses a risk of excessive blood pressure lowering; hence, patients using these medications should not take this drug. Patients who have had significant cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, unstable angina, stroke recently should not use this drug, and caution is warranted for patients with cardiovascular risk factors. This medication could affect sperm formation, so long-term use should warrant consultation with a doctor regarding reproductive function. Patients with penile deformities or certain blood disorders should use this medication with caution, and patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should consult a healthcare professional before use. The concurrent use of other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to unverified safety and efficacy. If sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and medical care should be sought. Some patients may experience side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, flushing, nasal congestion, and some cases may also experience palpitations, feeling faint, or increases in liver function tests. Most of these side effects are mild and temporary. Caution is advised when consuming alcohol, as it may lead to decreased blood pressure, dizziness, and headaches. Using other medications during treatment may lead to interactions, so especially in cases of medications metabolized in the liver, blood pressure medications, and alpha-blockers, consultation with a doctor is necessary. This medication is not for use in women, children, or infants, and safety has not been established for pregnant women. While it does not significantly impact driving or machinery operation, dizziness may occur in some individuals, so caution is warranted. In case of overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought; blood dialysis does not effectively clear this medication from the body. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is safe to maintain it in its original packaging.
