This medicine alleviates symptoms of ulcers occurring in the stomach or duodenum and is used for long-term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. It can also be used in combination with antibiotics for patients with gastrointestinal ulcers due to Helicobacter pylori infection. It is effective for rare diseases such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Through these effects, it helps improve gastrointestinal-related conditions.

How to take

Adult dose

Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer: Administer 10 mg orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be administered orally once daily. Typically, gastric ulcers are treated for up to 8 weeks and duodenal ulcers for up to 6 weeks. Erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not resolved after 8 weeks, an additional 8 weeks of 10 mg or 20 mg may be given once daily.

Precautions

This medicine should not be administered to patients with certain allergic reactions or those who have hypersensitivity when combined with certain antibiotics. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not take this medication.
