Acute pain and primary dysmenorrhea: The recommended initial dose is celecoxib 400 mg, with an additional 200 mg on the first day if needed. Starting on the second day, the recommended dose as needed is 200 mg per dose twice daily. ○ Patients with hepatic impairment: In patients with moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class II), the dose should be reduced to approximately 50% of the recommended daily dose.
This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding in those who regularly consume more than three servings of alcohol per day, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of serious thrombotic problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Individuals with a history of cardiovascular disease should exercise extra caution and use the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration possible. This medication can also impact the gastrointestinal tract, potentially resulting in serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastric ulcers, bleeding, or perforation. Elderly individuals and those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should be particularly careful, and should consult medical staff immediately if they experience symptoms such as epigastric pain, indigestion, black stools, or vomiting during treatment. This medication should not be administered to individuals with specific allergic reactions, severe liver or kidney diseases, those with active gastrointestinal bleeding, heart failure patients, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Individuals with impaired liver or kidney function, asthma patients, those with a history of hypertension or cardiovascular disease, and the elderly should consult medical staff carefully before using this medication and have their conditions monitored periodically. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so consultation with medical staff is especially important when taken alongside antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, antidepressants, or antineoplastics. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should discuss the potential effects on fertility with their doctor before taking this medication, and should cease use immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Those on long-term treatment should undergo regular tests to monitor liver, kidney function, and blood, and should report any unusual symptoms to medical staff immediately. This medication has not been established as safe or effective for children and adolescents, so it is advisable to avoid use in these populations. Elderly patients may have reduced bodily functions, so special caution is required during treatment, and starting with the minimum dose is preferable if body weight is low.
