Improvement of androgenetic alopecia
This medication is used to treat androgenetic alopecia, also known as male-pattern baldness. Male-pattern baldness is a hair loss phenomenon primarily caused by genetic factors in men. This drug effectively inhibits hair loss progression and promotes hair growth. Therefore, it helps improve hair loss and maintain hair health.
After completely drying the hair and scalp, apply 0.5 to 1mL of this medication to the affected area twice a day (morning and evening) for at least 4 months. The total daily dosage should not exceed 2mL.
This medication should not be used by female patients or children under 18 years of age. Additionally, individuals who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or its components should avoid use. Patients with heart or vascular issues, such as coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, or hypotension, should avoid using this medication. Patients with hair loss not due to genetic factors or those who experience sudden partial hair loss should also refrain from using this medication. Use should be avoided if there are abnormalities such as inflammation, infection, irritation, psoriasis, or sunburn of the scalp. It is also safe to refrain from using this medication for those with unexplained hair loss, those using other topical scalp medications, or those who have shaved their scalp. If the 2% formulation of this medication is poorly tolerated, it should be avoided. During the use of this medication, it should not be used alongside topical corticosteroids, retinoids, petroleum jelly, ditranol, or drugs that promote transdermal absorption. Patients taking vasodilators should be cautious, as there is a risk of sudden drops in blood pressure when using this medication. For elderly patients over 55 years old or those with edema or thyroid dysfunction, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is mandatory before use. If any adverse reactions such as itching, redness, dermatitis, or worsening hair loss occur while using this medication, stop using it immediately and consult a professional. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and caution should be exercised for cardiovascular symptoms such as changes in heartbeat or chest pain. Respiratory symptoms such as difficulty breathing or bronchitis, as well as central nervous system symptoms such as dizziness or headaches, have also been reported. Liver or kidney function may be affected; therefore, treatment may be necessary if edema or fluid retention occurs. Excessive use of this medication can severely impact the cardiovascular system, so it is crucial to adhere strictly to the recommended dosage. This medication should not be applied to areas other than the scalp and should not be used with occlusive dressings. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, wash immediately with clean water. It is advisable to wash hands thoroughly after use, and hairstyling products should only be used after this medication has completely dried. This medication is flammable; store it away from flames or heat, and ensure it is kept out of reach of children. Additionally, the medication should be stored in its original container to prevent degradation or misuse.
