Improvement of gastric ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions (erosion, bleeding, etc.)
This medication is effective for treating gastric ulcers and is used to improve gastric mucosal lesions such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling that occur during acute exacerbations of acute gastritis or chronic gastritis.
For adults, 100 mg of rebamipide is administered orally three times a day. However, in the case of gastric ulcers, it is administered in the morning, evening, and at bedtime.
This medication should not be administered to patients who have had hypersensitive reactions to its ingredients. Serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may rarely occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored during administration. If abnormal symptoms appear, immediately discontinue use and receive appropriate treatment. There may be a decrease in white blood cells or platelets, so it is important to regularly check blood status. Abnormal liver function may occur, requiring liver function tests as well. Allergic reactions like rashes, itching, and hives may occur on the skin, and if these symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued. Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and numbness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and heartburn may occur. If liver function deteriorates or fever and rashes occur, the medication should be immediately discontinued and a doctor consulted. Regular blood tests are recommended as white blood cell reduction or platelet reduction can be detected. Rarely, various side effects like breast pain, gynecomastia, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue numbness, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, and swelling may occur. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the therapeutic effects and risks of this medication, and nursing mothers are advised to avoid breastfeeding as the medication may be transmitted through breast milk. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in children, particularly low-birth-weight infants or newborns, as safety has not been established. Elderly patients may have decreased physiological function, so more attention should be paid to abnormal reactions such as gastrointestinal symptoms. This medication should be kept in a safe place out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container may lead to accidents or degraded quality, so it should be stored in its original container.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
