View approved original text

This drug is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be used as monotherapy, and in cases where previous diabetes treatment has not been effective for blood sugar control, it can be combined with metformin. The drug is also administered in conjunction with metformin or sulfonylureas when these monotherapies are insufficient. It can be used alongside insulin therapy if blood sugar control is difficult, and it may be added if blood sugar control is inadequate in combination with sulfonylureas and metformin, or with empagliflozin and metformin. Thus, this drug is used in various situations to improve blood sugar control.
