This drug is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is particularly effective in reducing the occurrence of spinal fractures, however, its effect on non-vertebral fractures has not yet been definitively proven. Therefore, it helps protect spinal health and reduce the risk associated with osteoporosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once a day, regardless of meals.

Precautions

This drug may increase the risk of blood clots in the bloodstream. It is necessary to discontinue use of this drug, especially if in a state of immobility or recovering from surgery. This drug should only be used by postmenopausal women and should not be taken by premenopausal women, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women. Patients who have an allergy to this drug or a history of thrombosis should also refrain from taking it. If uterine bleeding occurs while taking this drug, medical attention must be sought, and it is not recommended for patients with breast cancer. Patients with kidney or liver issues, hypertriglyceridemia, or restricted mobility should use this drug cautiously and follow their doctor's instructions. This drug may cause drowsiness or visual disturbances, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. If any visual changes are noticed, consult a doctor immediately. If calcium intake is insufficient, it is advisable to take calcium supplements, and patients at high risk of vitamin D deficiency may require additional vitamin D supplementation. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and treatment should be symptomatic as symptoms of hypercalcemia or kidney stones may occur, so caution is advised. Keep out of reach of children and store in its original container to prevent degradation of quality or misuse.
