This medication provides vitamin D especially needed during pregnancy, lactation, growth, and old age. It is also used to improve inadequate bone and dental growth and to prevent rickets.

How to take

Adult dose

For individuals aged 12 and older, take 1 capsule once daily

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with high calcium levels in the blood, those with unexplained systemic inflammatory diseases, or individuals with kidney disorders. Those allergic to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, severe renal failure patients, and those allergic to soybean oil, soy, or peanuts should also refrain from taking it. While taking this medication, phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics called tetracyclines, and antacids should not be taken concurrently. Patients receiving treatment, pregnant women, nursing mothers, premature or young infants, those with heart or circulatory issues, kidney disorders, low protein levels, individuals taking cardiac glycosides, those with a history of kidney stones, and those with lipid metabolism issues or hyperlipidemia, diabetic hyperlipidemia, or pancreatitis must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Additionally, this medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so caution is advised for those allergic to this ingredient. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeats, skin rash, red spots, cardiac arrest, or central nervous system depression occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult medical personnel. Overdose may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, edema, while long-term use may result in hypercalcemia or nephrolithiasis, therefore caution is required. Taking this medication with certain diuretics may cause hyperkalemia, so caution is necessary. The prescribed dosage and frequency should be strictly adhered to, and beverages containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, should be avoided before and after taking the medication. Patients at risk of fat overload should regularly check their blood lipid levels and adjust the medication dosage if necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, in a tightly closed container, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. It is also important not to transfer it to another container to prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medication.
