Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug should not be given it. Patients with corneal epithelium erosion or ulcers, those with tuberculous or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and children under 2 years old should use it with special caution. Long-term use of this medication can raise intraocular pressure, potentially leading to glaucoma, so it is essential to have regular eye pressure checks. Infections such as herpes keratitis or corneal ulcers may worsen, and there is a rare risk of cataracts or secondary infections. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 2 days, immediately discontinue use and consult a physician. Individuals wearing contact lenses should remove the lenses before applying this medication and wait at least 30 minutes after use to reinsert them. Since vision may be temporarily blurred after instillation, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Serious complications may occur if infected with chickenpox or measles during treatment, so it is important to confirm the medical history and vaccination status and take precautions against infections. Particularly, children or patients taking certain medications (e.g., ritonavir, cobicistat) are at higher risk of systemic side effects and need to exercise caution. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid long-term or frequent use of this medication, and breastfeeding may need to be discontinued if possible. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the tip of the container with the eye. Before use, shake well, and to prevent contamination, it is safe not to share the medication with others. Store it in a tightly closed container out of reach of children, in a cool place away from direct sunlight, and do not transfer it to another container.
