This medicine is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. It is particularly effective in reducing the incidence of spinal fractures. However, its effectiveness for non-vertebral fractures has not yet been clearly proven. Therefore, this medicine primarily helps to reduce the risk of spinal fractures and improve bone density.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily regardless of meals.

Precautions

This medicine may increase the risk of thrombosis in the blood, so it is not recommended for use in women with a history of thrombosis or those at high risk of thrombosis. This medicine is intended for use only in postmenopausal women, and should not be taken by premenopausal women, pregnant women, or nursing mothers. If uterine bleeding occurs during treatment, consult a healthcare professional immediately. The safety of this medicine in breast cancer patients is not established, therefore it is not recommended for prevention or treatment purposes. Patients with certain diseases or conditions, such as those with poor kidney or liver function, hypertriglyceridemia, or limited mobility, should use this medicine cautiously. This medicine can cause drowsiness or vision impairment, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Patients at high risk of vitamin D deficiency may need additional supplementation, and if calcium intake is insufficient, calcium supplementation should also be done. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypercalcemia or kidney stones may occur, so if symptoms are suspected, inform healthcare professionals immediately. Keep out of the reach of children and store in the original container to maintain the quality of the medicine.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities associated with coughing and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination

Mild side effects

Drowsiness, facial flushing, leg cramps, dry mouth, rash, itching, muscle cramps, peripheral edema, increase in blood triglycerides, elevation of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), elevation of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), impaired vision, blurred vision, photophobia, visual field defects, visual disturbances, dry eyes, eyelid edema, eyelid twitching, eye pain, eye swelling, vomiting, gastritis, colon polyps, belching, allergic reactions, chest discomfort

Storage
