How to take

Adult dose

1) Divided dosage method: On the evening before the colonoscopy, take the prepared solution of 1L (500mL × 2 doses) over 1 hour (250mL every 15 minutes), and then drink an additional 500mL of water. The following morning, take another 1L of the prepared solution (500mL × 2 doses) over 1 hour and drink another 500mL of water. Precautions

This medication can rarely cause generalized tonic-clonic seizures even in patients without a history of seizures, so caution is required. Problems related to electrolyte imbalance, such as hyponatremia or hypokalemia, may occur; hence, caution is particularly warranted when taken with diuretics or ACE inhibitors. It's important to check electrolyte status through blood tests for sodium, potassium, calcium, creatinine, BUN, etc., before and after colonoscopy. Patients with serious gastrointestinal diseases such as intestinal obstruction, gastric outlet obstruction, perforation, or toxic colitis should not use this medication, and it must be used cautiously in patients with severe ulcerative colitis. Patients who have allergies to this medication or its components, suspected gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation, dehydration, severe heart failure, or active cancer should not be administered this medication. It is not used in children under 18 years of age as the safety has not been confirmed. Elderly or frail patients, those with significantly impaired renal function, patients who have gag reflex disorders, or are confused should be monitored more closely when taking this medication. This medication can cause various side effects such as hunger, headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal bloating, and rare allergic reactions or heart and kidney problems may also occur. During administration, bowel movements should be monitored closely, and if abdominal bloating or pain worsens, the administration rate should be slowed or temporarily halted, and a medical examination is needed. If symptoms of fluid and electrolyte imbalance appear, blood tests should be performed to confirm the condition and appropriate treatment initiated. This medication may induce diarrhea, so adequate hydration before and after administration is important. Avoid using this medication with stimulative laxatives, as the risk of damage to the colonic mucosa increases. Caution is warranted as it may affect the absorption of other oral medications taken within 1 hour before administration. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication. Overdose can lead to severe dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, requiring immediate medical observation and treatment. Do not mix this medication with other components or flavorings before administration, and take the solution immediately after dissolving it in water, discarding any remaining solution within 24 hours. When storing, keep it in a tightly sealed container away from children's reach, and store the prepared solution covered in the refrigerator, avoiding transfer to other containers.
