Improvement in blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes
This drug is used to improve blood sugar control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes. It is administered to patients who are receiving diabetes medication for the first time or have difficulty controlling blood sugar with monotherapy. Additionally, this drug can be used when blood sugar control is insufficient with metformin monotherapy. It is also effective in replacing the combination therapy of linagliptin and metformin. When blood sugar control is challenging with the maximum doses of metformin combined with sulfonylureas or insulin and metformin combination therapy, this drug can be used in combination to provide assistance. Finally, this drug can be added to combinations with metformin and empagliflozin to enhance treatment efficacy when blood sugar control is inadequate. Thus, this drug is used to complement various treatment methods to improve blood sugar control.
The dosage of this drug is determined based on each ingredient's maximum recommended dose of linagliptin 2.5 mg and metformin 1000 mg not exceeding twice daily, considering each patient's current treatment regimen, efficacy, and tolerance. This drug is administered twice daily with meals. 1. If currently not treated with metformin: As an initial dosage, take 2.5/500 mg of this drug twice a day, one tablet at a time.

Patients with reduced kidney function should undergo regular kidney function tests before and during treatment with this drug. Caution is advised in patients with heart disease, such as heart failure or acute myocardial infarction. If an iodine contrast agent is used during radiological examinations, this drug should be discontinued for a certain period before and after the test and can be resumed only after stabilizing kidney function. Acute pancreatitis or blistering skin diseases may occur; if severe abdominal pain or skin abnormalities appear during treatment, consult a physician immediately.
