This medicine is used for the treatment of male-pattern baldness, or androgenetic alopecia. This condition refers to hair loss primarily caused by male hormones. Treatment helps slow the progression of hair loss and improves the health of hair. It is a suitable treatment method for those troubled by hair loss.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

After thoroughly drying hair and scalp, apply 0.5 to 1mL of this medication to the affected area twice a day (morning, evening) for at least 4 months. Do not exceed a total daily dose of 2mL.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by female patients and children under the age of 18. Additionally, those who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should avoid using it. It is also advisable not to use this medication in cases of cardiovascular diseases or if there is inflammation, infection, or irritation present on the scalp. It is contraindicated in cases of non-genetic hair loss, sudden patch loss, or if used in conjunction with other scalp medications. This medication should not be used on a shaved scalp, and those not tolerant to the 2% formulation should also avoid it. During the use of this medication, it is important to avoid using topical corticosteroids, retinoids, petroleum jelly, dithranol, or other medications that increase percutaneous absorption. Patients taking vasodilators should take caution as this medication may exacerbate orthostatic hypotension. Elderly patients over 55 years old, patients with edema, or individuals with thyroid dysfunction must consult a medical professional before use. If skin rashes, itching, redness, dermatitis, or similar symptoms occur during the use of this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare professionals. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting; cardiac symptoms may include chest pain, blood pressure changes, and palpitations, so caution is advised. Respiratory issues or symptoms from the central nervous system, as well as any liver or kidney dysfunction, may rarely occur, so consult a doctor if symptoms arise. Initial hair loss may temporarily increase during the use of this medication, but if this lasts longer than 2 weeks, it is advisable to consult a professional. Also, if there is no effect after 4 months, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider. Excessive absorption of this medication may affect the cardiovascular system, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist to confirm an individual’s health status before use. If a dose is missed while using this medication, do not make up for it and continue with the next normal dose. This medication does not work for hair loss due to specific causes or scalp diseases, and excessive use can lead to serious side effects, so the recommended dosage should be strictly followed. During the use of this medication, do not apply it to other areas of the body besides the scalp, and do not use occlusive dressings. Be careful to avoid contact with the eyes or sensitive areas; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. After use, wash hands thoroughly, and it is advisable to use hairstyling products only after the medication has completely dried. If air circulation to the scalp is obstructed, the efficacy may decrease, so avoid using a hairdryer. This medication is flammable, so it should be stored away from flames or heat sources and kept out of reach of children. Also, it should be stored in the original container, as transferring it to a different container can increase the risk of quality degradation or misuse.
