There is an increased risk of hypoglycemia when taken with other diabetes medications, so caution is needed. If symptoms of muscle pain or myopathy appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Patients with severe renal impairment, acute heart failure or serious infections, liver dysfunction, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children under 10 years of age should not use this medication. If meal intake is irregular or insufficient, vigorous exercise is undertaken, or excessive alcohol consumption occurs, the risk of side effects from this medication may increase, so it should be used cautiously. Side effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, hypoglycemia, liver function abnormalities, muscle pain, headache, dizziness, and others may occur; therefore, it is important to consult a doctor if these symptoms appear. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, you must inform your healthcare provider, and regular blood tests and renal function tests are required. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use appropriate contraception, and it is recommended that this medication not be taken while breastfeeding. Special care is needed for children and the elderly, particularly in the elderly, due to the need for dosage adjustment and monitoring according to renal function decline.
