Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or any other components. It should also not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is required when used with other medications that may cause hypoglycemia, such as insulin or sulfonylureas, as the risk of hypoglycemia may increase. In such cases, it might be necessary to reduce the doses of insulin or insulin secretagogues. Due to limited experience with this medication in patients with heart failure, it should be administered cautiously. There is a potential risk of acute pancreatitis while taking this medication; therefore, if persistent and severe abdominal pain occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Skin conditions such as bullous pemphigoid may occur rarely, so if blisters or lesions appear on the skin, notify a doctor immediately, and discontinue use if necessary. There may be symptoms of hypoglycemia while taking this medication, so caution is needed, especially when used in conjunction with other diabetes medications. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication as its safety has not been established. It is not recommended for children under 10 years of age or for children and adolescents aged 10 to 17 years, as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently confirmed. Elderly patients can use this medication without special dose adjustments, but patients with impaired kidney or liver function may also take it without dose adjustment. In the case of overdose, there are no specific antidotes; therefore, it is important to remove any remaining medication from the gastrointestinal tract, monitor clinical symptoms, and receive necessary treatment. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring to another container may lead to accidents and is not good for quality maintenance.
