Precautions

This medication contains R-Alpha-Lipoic Acid Trimetazidine Salt, so it should not be used in patients who are allergic to this ingredient or to thioctic acid, or to other excipients included in the drug. This medication contains yellow No. 4 (tartrazine) dye, so patients with hypersensitivity or a history of allergy to this component should use it with caution. When taking this medication, side effects such as sensory disturbances, pain, headaches, constipation, abdominal discomfort, dry mouth, coughing, cystitis, diarrhea, and burning sensation may occur, and rarely, serious adverse reactions such as renal calculi have also been reported. Additionally, taking this medication with alcohol can exacerbate neuropathy symptoms, so patients with diabetic polyneuropathy should avoid alcohol consumption during both treatment and off periods. This medication may form insoluble complexes that inhibit absorption when taken with iron, magnesium preparations, or milk, so these should be taken at different times. When taken alongside insulin or other antidiabetic medications, there is a risk of blood sugar dropping too low, so blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, and medication doses should be adjusted if necessary. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should take this medication only after carefully weighing its benefits and risks, and it is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, severe toxic symptoms may occur, so if suspected, one should visit a hospital immediately for appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture, and it is best kept at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
