It is also used for preoperative or anesthetic administration and helps relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Overall, it is used to effectively treat and improve various conditions related to gastrointestinal diseases.

Short-term treatment of duodenal ulcers: The usual dose is 10 mg of lafutidine orally twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime. In clinical trials with treatment for up to 6 weeks, most ulcers healed within 6 weeks, although healing time may vary among patients. 3. This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to any of its ingredients. This medication contains lactose; therefore, patients with genetic disorders that prevent lactose digestion should not take this medication. Use with caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions, impaired liver or kidney function, patients undergoing dialysis, and the elderly. If symptoms such as pallor of the face, low blood pressure, or difficulty breathing occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and seek medical assistance. Regularly check liver function, as abnormalities or jaundice may occur; stop use if any issues arise. There may be a decrease in white blood cells or platelets, leading to symptoms such as sore throat, malaise, or fever; discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare professionals if these symptoms occur. Rarely, severe side effects such as skin rashes, convulsions, or heart problems may occur, so consult a doctor immediately if abnormal symptoms appear. Gastrointestinal side effects may include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, and loss of appetite, while central nervous system effects may include headache, insomnia, drowsiness, and dizziness. Because elderly patients may have decreased body function, dosage and interval should be adjusted, and their condition should be closely monitored. In dialysis patients, the drug concentration in the blood may increase, so it should be administered cautiously starting from a low dose. Pregnant women should only use this medication if the physician assesses that the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks; breastfeeding women should avoid this medication as it may be excreted in breast milk. Safety has not been established for children, so its use is not recommended. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and store it in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality. This medication may mask symptoms of malignant tumors, so if symptoms such as weight loss, recurrent vomiting, or hematemesis occur, thorough examination is essential. If malignant gastric cancer is confirmed, treatment should be discontinued. Patients' conditions should be carefully monitored during treatment and alternative methods should be considered if therapeutic effects are lacking. The risk of side effects may increase with long-term or excessive use, so this medication should only be taken according to a physician's instructions.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture, at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way helps maintain the medication's efficacy for a longer period.
