Vitamin D is particularly necessary during pregnancy and breastfeeding, childhood growth periods, and old age. This vitamin plays an important role in supporting healthy development of bones and teeth and in preventing bone diseases such as rickets. Therefore, the Vitamin D included in this medicine is used for improving bone and dental growth deficiencies and preventing rickets.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults should take 1 tablet once a day.

Child dose

Children over 8 years of age should take 1 tablet once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals with elevated calcium levels in the blood, unknown systemic inflammatory diseases, or kidney diseases. Anyone with an allergy to this medication or any of its ingredients should also avoid taking it. Infants under 12 months of age or patients with kidney stones, as well as those with severe renal insufficiency, should not use this medication. This medication contains lactose; therefore, individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. It is advisable not to take other medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids during the course of this medication. Infants under 1 year old, currently treated patients, children receiving ample sunlight, pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with heart and circulatory diseases, those with kidney disorders, patients with protein deficiency, and patients taking cardiac glycosides or with a history of kidney stones should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, facial flushing, heart rhythm disturbances, or skin rashes occur during use, it is important to stop the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, in cases of overdose, gastrointestinal disorders, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema may occur, so caution is necessary as long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or stone disease. Particularly, beware of the risk of hyperkalemia when taken with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and administration, and to supervise children while administering this medication. It is advisable to avoid drinks containing tannins such as green tea or black tea before and after taking this medication. Store this medication out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place to maintain its quality and prevent misuse.
