Infants under 1 year of age, patients under medical treatment, children receiving a lot of sunlight and having a normal diet, pregnant women or women who might become pregnant, nursing mothers, premature infants, and children should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. Special caution is needed as vitamin D can be secreted in breast milk, potentially causing hypercalcemia in newborns. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, facial flushing, arrhythmia, or skin rash occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Also, high doses may cause gastrointestinal disturbance, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, edema, and other symptoms. Long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or lithiasis, so caution is advised. Taking this medication in conjunction with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene may increase the risk of hyperkalemia, so caution is needed. If an overdose occurs or if there is no improvement after one month of use, consult a healthcare professional. This medication must be taken strictly according to the prescribed dosage and frequency and under the supervision of a guardian when administered to children. It is advisable to avoid tea that contains tannins, such as green tea and black tea, before and after taking this medication.
