Minocycline hydrochloride is used in the treatment of chronic marginal periodontitis caused by bacteria such as Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, Prevotella melaninogenica, Eikenella corrodens, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Capnocytophaga species, and Haemophilus actinomycetemcomitans. This medication effectively improves inflammation and various symptoms of periodontitis arising from these bacterial infections. Patients taking minocycline hydrochloride can expect relief from inflammation in the periodontal tissues and improvements in gum health. Therefore, minocycline hydrochloride is used to alleviate symptoms of chronic periodontitis and improve gum condition.

Dosage and Administration

Generally, a sufficient amount is injected into the periodontal pocket once a week.

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to tetracycline antibiotics.
