Initial treatment effect for recurrent herpes labialis
Antiviral agents are primarily used for the initial treatment of recurrent herpes labialis. This medication inhibits the multiplication of the virus, preventing the exacerbation of symptoms and aiding in rapid recovery. If treated appropriately in the early stages, pain and discomfort can be reduced. It is also effective in preventing the spread of infection. This treatment can improve the symptoms of recurrent herpes labialis.
Apply an appropriate amount sufficient to cover the edges of the affected area, 5 times a day for 5 days. Treatment should be started as soon as initial symptoms or signs appear.
This medication should not be used by patients with specific skin infections, such as bacterial infections like tuberculosis or syphilis, fungal infections like candidiasis or tinea, and other viral infections excluding herpes simplex. Additionally, individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components, patients with severe immune compromise, patients with otitis externa with tympanic membrane perforation, and patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite should avoid use. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, individuals under 18 years of age, nursing mothers, and those with a history of myocardial infarction should consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. This medication should not be applied to the eyes, nose, mouth, or genital area, and it is advisable not to take this medication with specific drugs during use. Especially during nursing, it is safe to avoid breastfeeding while using this medication. Symptoms such as dryness, peeling, burning, tingling, redness may occur on the skin; if these symptoms worsen or persist, professional consultation is necessary. Long-term or extensive use may result in side effects such as skin thinning or vascular dilation, so caution is advised. The usual duration of use is limited to 5 days, and if symptoms do not improve, therapy should be discontinued and a physician or pharmacist consulted. This medication is intended for the treatment of herpes labialis around the lips only, and due to the possibility of skin irritation or allergic reactions, users must strictly follow the prescribed method and dosage. This medication should not be used to prevent infection in others, nor should it be diluted or mixed with other medications. When storing, it is important to keep it out of reach of children and to store it sealed in its original container.
