This medication is used to improve memory decline and cognitive dysfunction in patients with symptoms of Alzheimer's type dementia.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For Donepezil Hydrochloride, administer 5 mg once daily before bedtime. This medication is an orally disintegrating tablet that can be taken by placing it on the tongue to dissolve, with or without water.

Children's dosage

There is no experience regarding the use in children.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to certain ingredients, pregnant women, or breastfeeding women. Patients with heart disease or conduction disorders of the heart should use this medication cautiously, as it may cause a slow heart rate or arrhythmias, requiring careful monitoring. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers or who are taking anti-inflammatory analgesics should be cautious of the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or worsening ulcers. Patients with asthma or obstructive pulmonary diseases should be cautious as respiratory symptoms may worsen with this medication.
