This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who are either on a combination of Telmisartan and Amlodipine or who have difficulty controlling blood pressure. Additionally, Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct in cases of hypercholesterolemia or familial hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia that are not controlled by diet and exercise. Rosuvastatin lowers total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, delaying the progression of atherosclerosis and helping to reduce cardiovascular disease risk. Particularly, it reduces the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular revascularization in men over 50 and women over 60 who have additional cardiovascular risk factors. Therefore, this medication is effectively used to manage hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
