Be cautious when using it in combination with diabetes medications such as insulin or sulfonylureas, as there is a risk of hypoglycemia. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication or severely impaired liver function should not take it. In patients with muscle disorders or those taking certain medications, the risk of muscle-related side effects may increase, so caution is needed. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, and women who may become pregnant should use appropriate contraceptive methods. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, acute infections, or dehydration should also not be administered this medication. Patients scheduled for surgery should stop taking this medication 48 hours before surgery and resume only after normal kidney function is confirmed post-surgery. Irregular meals, intense exercise, and taking other medications can increase the risk of hypoglycemia or lactic acidosis, so caution is advised. If symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle weakness, fatigue, or fever occur during the use of this medication, healthcare professionals should be informed immediately, and blood tests should be performed to check for muscle damage if necessary. If symptoms of liver dysfunction are observed, the medication should be discontinued immediately and consulting with a doctor is advised. The risk of lactic acidosis increases when this medication is taken with alcohol, so it is advisable to avoid alcohol while using it. Kidney function should be regularly checked, and if abnormalities are found, consideration should be given to dose adjustments or discontinuation. Elderly patients may have an increased likelihood of reduced kidney function, so kidney function should be regularly monitored, and dosing adjusted accordingly when using this medication. During the use of this medication, regular blood glucose tests and liver function tests should be conducted to consistently monitor health status.
