This medication is used as a combined replacement therapy only for patients who require the administration of both Rosuvastatin Calcium and Metformin Hydrochloride.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is prescribed only for adults, to be taken once daily with the evening meal.

Precautions

This medication can rarely cause a serious condition called lactic acidosis, which can be life-threatening, hence caution is needed. Additionally, severe hypoglycemia may occur when used with other diabetes medications, so caution should be observed. Patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this medicine, severely impaired liver function, muscle disorders, or using certain immunosuppressants should not use this medication. It is also safest for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and women of childbearing age who are not using appropriate contraception to avoid using this medication. Patients with moderate or severe impaired kidney function, those with acute myocardial infarction, severe infections, acute heart failure, and patients scheduled for tests using iodine contrast agents must consult a physician before using this medication. Care should also be taken with irregular meals, intense exercise, and potential interactions with other medications, and especially if symptoms of muscle pain or weakness occur, medical personnel should be notified immediately. Regular tests of liver and kidney function should be performed during the course of this medication, and any abnormal symptoms should lead to immediate consultation with a physician. Moreover, alcohol can increase the risk of side effects from this medication, so excessive drinking should be avoided. Severe lactic acidosis, severe hypoglycemia, hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema, urticaria, rash, and pruritus, pancreatitis, myopathy (including myositis), rhabdomyolysis, jaundice, hepatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), severe muscle weakness and ophthalmoplegia, acute kidney failure, oliguria, thrombocytopenia, increased serum creatinine levels, severe skin adverse reactions.
