This medication is used as a combination alternative therapy for patients who need to take Rosuvastatin Calcium and Metformin Hydrochloride together. By administering both drugs simultaneously, therapeutic effectiveness is enhanced, and conditions that require management are effectively improved.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily to adults with the evening meal.

Precautions

This medication can rarely cause a serious condition known as lactic acidosis, which can be life-threatening, so caution is necessary. When used in conjunction with other diabetes medications, there can be severe hypoglycemia, so caution should be exercised. Patients with an allergy to the ingredients of this medication or severe liver dysfunction should not use it. Patients with muscle diseases or those taking certain immunosuppressants should also not take this medication. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication, and women of childbearing potential should ensure adequate contraception. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, acute heart failure, or severe infections should also avoid using this medication. Patients undergoing tests using iodine contrast agents should temporarily discontinue this medication before and after the tests, and should resume after confirming normal kidney function. Irregular meals, intense exercise, or concomitant use with other medications can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and lactic acidosis, so careful monitoring is required. If symptoms of muscle pain or weakness occur, notify a doctor immediately and undergo necessary examinations. Individuals who consume excessive alcohol or have a history of liver disease should undergo regular liver function tests while using this medication. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustments and kidney function tests, and are advised against using the maximum dose. This medication may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, fatigue, headache, dizziness, skin rash, etc., and should be consulted with a doctor if any unusual symptoms arise. It must be avoided during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the fetus and newborn. Caution is needed as dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established for children under 19 years of age.
