Additionally, it is used to prevent infections during ophthalmic surgeries. This medication treats various eye-related inflammations and infections, thereby improving eye health.

This medication should not be used by patients who have had allergic reactions to quinolone antibiotics. Severe allergic reactions or symptoms of shock may occur infrequently, so if symptoms such as nausea, difficulty breathing, or coldness in limbs arise, usage should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment sought. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, hives, itching, swelling of the face or neck, or difficulty breathing occur, discontinuation of the drug is necessary. Temporary symptoms of eye irritation, burning, pain, redness, itching, blurred vision, tearing, and dryness may occur, and in severe cases, may progress to serious eye diseases such as keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, thus immediate discontinuation is required if symptoms arise. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms may occur infrequently, so caution should be exercised if abnormal symptoms arise. Prolonged use of this medication may lead to excessive growth of fungi or resistant bacteria, so it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration; if other infections are suspected, treatment should be discontinued and switched to other therapies. This medication has not been proven effective against the specific resistant bacteria MRSA, so if MRSA infection is confirmed or if symptoms do not improve, a rapid switch to other antibiotics is necessary. Tendon inflammation or rupture has been reported during the use of this medication, especially in elderly patients or those using it in conjunction with steroids, therefore if pain or inflammation in the tendons occurs, usage should be stopped immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. If breastfeeding, either stop breastfeeding or discontinue the drug. It is advisable not to use this medication for infants under 1 year of age as safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. This medication is an eye drop intended for use in the eye only and should not be used on other areas. Care should be taken to avoid direct contact between the tip of the container and the eye when instilling the drops. To prevent contamination due to shared use, it is best not to use it together with others if possible. Store this medication out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight, and keep it in a cool place. Furthermore, to prevent misuse and maintain drug quality, it should not be transferred to other containers.
