This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension and heart failure. It is particularly effective in heart failure patients who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors. Additionally, it helps to lower the risk of death in stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. This medication plays an important role in managing cardiovascular diseases and is used to protect the patient's life.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Essential Hypertension: Take orally once a day 80 mg with water during meals or between meals, preferably at the same time every day. If blood pressure control is difficult, the dose can be increased to 160 mg per day or combined with diuretics, with a maximum increase to 320 mg per day. Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start at 40 mg once daily. Patients with renal impairment: Creatinine clearance 10–20 mL/min

Safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years, so it should not be administered.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be used by women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. The use of this medication is not recommended for patients with severely impaired liver function or severe kidney dysfunction. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolyte status is important while taking this medication. Dizziness may occur during driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, decreased consciousness, shock, etc., may occur, and immediate emergency treatment is required.
