This medicine helps improve gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and gastritis and duodenitis or ulcers. It also alleviates discomfort due to irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is used to treat habitual vomiting and non-infectious bowel transit disorders including constipation and diarrhea. Overall, it improves various symptoms related to digestive function issues.

How to take

Adult dose

As trimethobenzamide maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose and should not be used by patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Rare gastrointestinal side effects may occur with this medication, including constipation, diarrhea, gas sounds in the intestines, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, thirst, and a numb feeling in the mouth. Additionally, cardiac-related symptoms such as palpitations may occasionally occur. Psychoneurological symptoms like fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may also rarely appear. Liver function test values may temporarily increase, so caution regarding liver health is necessary. Allergic reactions such as rash may occur, and if such symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this medication during pregnancy has not been sufficiently established, so pregnant women or those of childbearing potential should use it only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid taking this medication, and if it must be taken, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
