This drug should not be used in patients with severely impaired kidney function or acute kidney injury. Patients with heart-related conditions such as heart failure or acute myocardial infarction should also avoid taking it. Before and after examinations using specific contrast agents, the administration of this drug should be temporarily discontinued and restarted only after kidney function is confirmed to be normal. It should not be used in patients with allergies to any of the ingredients or a history of type 1 diabetes or lactic acidosis. In patients with severe infections, significant trauma, around the time of surgery, or in a state of malnutrition, administration may need to be temporarily suspended. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this drug. Elderly patients or those with reduced kidney function require dose adjustments and regular kidney function tests, and should be aware of the potential for side effects. Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of lactic acidosis, so it is advisable to avoid it. This drug may interact with other medications, so if any other drugs are being taken, it is essential to inform a doctor or pharmacist. Potential side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms, hypoglycemia, liver dysfunction, muscle pain, etc., so if any adverse symptoms occur, immediate consultation is required.
