This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not well controlled with monotherapy of telmisartan and amlodipine when atorvastatin needs to be administered concurrently. The telmisartan/amlodipine combination is effective in controlling blood pressure, and atorvastatin helps improve dyslipidemia such as hypercholesterolemia. Especially, when not controlled by diet and exercise, atorvastatin lowers cholesterol levels and delays the progression of atherosclerosis. It is also used to reduce the risks of stroke, myocardial infarction, and vascular reintervention in patients at high cardiovascular risk. Therefore, this drug helps manage cardiovascular health effectively by targeting improvements in both blood pressure and blood lipids simultaneously.
