This medication is used to improve uncomfortable symptoms in your stomach and esophagus.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients who have had an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to this drug or its components should not take it. Additionally, patients taking certain antiviral medications such as Atazanavir, Nelfinavir, or Rilpivirine, as well as nursing mothers, should not use this drug. Caution is also required for patients with a history of myocardial infarction or heart-related diseases. Patients with poor liver or kidney function, elderly patients, patients with severe gastrointestinal ulcers, those with cardiopulmonary dysfunction, and patients with electrolyte imbalances should use this drug with caution. In particular, patients with electrolyte abnormalities such as hypokalemia, hypocalcemia, and hypochloremic alkalosis should take care due to the sodium bicarbonate included in this medication. Moreover, patients who need to limit sodium intake should be cautious when taking this medication. Various side effects may occur when taking this medication. For example, headache, dizziness, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, itching, and rarely severe allergic reactions or blood abnormalities may occur. Liver dysfunction, nephritis, myalgia, gynecomastia, and weakness have also been reported. This medication may increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections as it reduces stomach acid, which promotes bacterial growth in the stomach. Long-term use (especially for more than one year) may increase fracture risk, so patients at risk for osteoporosis should undergo regular examinations. Additionally, since this drug contains sugar, certain rare genetic disease patients should not take it. Long-term use of this medication may lower blood magnesium levels, so it's important to periodically monitor magnesium levels. Caution is warranted as magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle cramps, arrhythmias, and seizures. This drug can interact with other medications, so consult your physician when taking it with digoxin, warfarin, methotrexate, clopidogrel, tacrolimus, or certain antiviral agents. Close monitoring is necessary as blood levels of interacting medications may change. Data on the safety of this drug during pregnancy is limited; therefore, it should be administered cautiously to pregnant women, and it is advisable for nursing women to refrain from taking it. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment based on symptoms should be provided, along with standard supportive therapy. This drug should be kept out of the reach of children, and care should be taken to avoid transferring it to other containers, as this may degrade quality and pose risks.
