Precautions

This medication contains R-Alpha Lipoic Acid Amine Salt and should not be used by patients with an allergy to this ingredient or its excipients. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as sensory abnormalities, pain, headache, constipation, and dry mouth may occur. In rare cases, serious side effects such as kidney stones or facial swelling may also develop in some patients. Additionally, while this medication is used for treating diabetic neuropathy, alcohol consumption can diminish its therapeutic effects, so it should be avoided whenever possible, including during treatment breaks. This medication should not be taken simultaneously with preparations containing iron, magnesium, or calcium, as it may hinder the absorption of the drug. Care should be taken to adjust the timing of administration to avoid taking them together. When used with insulin or oral diabetes medications, there is a risk of excessive hypoglycemia; therefore, blood sugar levels should be monitored frequently, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Women who are pregnant or nursing should discuss the use of this medication with a physician to thoroughly consider the benefits and risks before administration. The safety and efficacy of this drug have not been established in children under 18 years of age, so it is advisable not to use it in this population. In cases of overdose, serious poisoning symptoms may occur; therefore, immediate hospital visit for appropriate treatment is necessary, as self-treatment may be dangerous. For storage, avoid high temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and keep it out of reach of children. Transferring the medication to another container may lead to quality degradation and accidents, so caution is advised.
