This medicine is used for the local anesthesia of the oral mucosa. It is particularly effective for infiltration anesthesia, reducing pain during cutting and installation of crowns and dentures. It also provides comfort during scaling near or beneath the gums, thereby minimizing patient discomfort during dental procedures. For these reasons, it is used for local anesthesia of the oral mucosa.

How to use

Adult use

This medication should be applied to the dried mucosa. For one application, use a cotton swab to apply 0.10~0.20g (5~10mg of lidocaine). The maximum allowable daily dose should not exceed 4g of 5% gel (equivalent to 200mg of lidocaine). For a 70kg adult, the maximum dose corresponds to 2.9mg of lidocaine per kg. The maximum dosage may need to be recalculated in certain special cases, such as for patients who are not in good health.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to amide local anesthetics. It should also not be used by anyone allergic to cetyltrimethylammonium. It is advisable not to administer this drug to children under 4 years of age. Excessive use of this drug or incorrect intravenous injection can lead to various symptoms affecting the central nervous system. For example, there may be increased sensitivity of nerves, excitement, frequent yawning, trembling, and anxiety. Additionally, symptoms like eye twitching, dizziness, headaches, nausea, and ringing in the ears may occur. If these symptoms appear, immediately inform the medical staff and continue to monitor the condition. There may be rapid and difficult breathing, a rapid heartbeat, and fluctuations in blood pressure. In severe cases, there is a risk that the heartbeat may slow down or stop, requiring caution. The safety of this drug has not been sufficiently verified in pregnant or nursing women; it should be used only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Athletes should be cautious, as this drug may cause a positive reaction in doping tests. After applying this medication to the mucosa, care should be taken to ensure that any residual drug does not enter the mouth, and the risk of anesthesia should be considered when using it on areas with wounds, such as on the lips, cheeks, or tongue. Especially on mucous membranes with wounds, the medication may be absorbed more quickly, increasing the risk of side effects, so caution is necessary.
