Adult dose

Before administering this medicine, appropriate lipid-lowering dietary therapy must be performed, and it should continue throughout the treatment period. This medicine is taken with food to avoid gastrointestinal discomfort. The usual initial dose is 2g (2 capsules) per day, which may be increased to 4g per day if necessary. Administer once or twice a day.

This medicine should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its components or in children under 18 years of age. It should be used with caution in patients at high risk of bleeding due to severe trauma or surgery, patients with poor liver function, and those with fish allergies. Various adverse reactions such as indigestion, rash, dysgeusia, and cold symptoms may occur during administration; if such symptoms arise, consult a physician. Before initiating treatment, a blood test should be performed to confirm if triglyceride levels exceed normal range, and it is important to combine weight management, diet, and exercise. Regular blood tests should be conducted during treatment to monitor drug effectiveness and side effects, and treatment may be discontinued if no effect is observed after 2 months. This medicine may prolong bleeding time; therefore, when taken with anticoagulants or aspirin, the risk of bleeding should be carefully monitored. During pregnancy, it should only be used when necessary, considering the risk to the fetus, and caution is also necessary for breastfeeding women. Generally considered safe for the elderly, but the possibility of cardiac side effects such as atrial fibrillation should be taken into account. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment and support should be provided according to symptoms. This medicine is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established.
