Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

In adults, start with naftopidil 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms; however, the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients who have had an allergic reaction to its components. Patients with liver function issues may experience increased blood concentration of this medication, hence caution is advised. Patients with severe heart disease or severe cerebrovascular disorders should be administered this drug with care due to limited experience with its use. Elderly patients may have reduced liver function, which can lead to prolonged elevation of blood concentration, and therefore care should be taken. Patients taking PDE5 inhibitors that cause vasodilation should be aware that using this drug together may lead to a risk of excessively low blood pressure. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may have exacerbation of symptoms when taking this medication, hence caution is recommended. Overdosing this medication can result in overly low blood pressure, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed. Dizziness or vertigo can occur early in treatment, so extra caution is advised when working at heights or driving. If taking blood pressure-lowering medications concurrently, blood pressure changes should be closely monitored, and dosage adjustments may be necessary if blood pressure becomes too low. This medication is a treatment for symptom relief and does not address the underlying cause, so alternative treatments should be considered if it fails to work effectively. If serious adverse effects such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, or loss of consciousness occur, medication should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Keep out of reach of children, and when taking the medication, it should be removed from the packaging and swallowed directly. Elderly individuals should be monitored carefully while using this medication due to the possibility of reduced liver function.
