Prevention of skin infections before surgery and injections
Used to disinfect the patient's skin before surgery or insertion of a syringe needle and catheter.
Apply to the disinfection area.
This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to chlorhexidine or isopropanol. It should also not be used for disinfecting surgical instruments. Avoid direct application to critical areas such as the brain, spinal cord, eyes, and ears, as it may cause hearing loss or nerve damage. Especially, it should not be used on mucosal areas, particularly genital mucosa. Not to be administered to infants under 2 months of age. Individuals with a history of allergies to other medications or a history of allergic diseases like asthma, or with a family history, should use this medication with caution. Rarely, shock symptoms may occur when using this medication, so if there are unusual symptoms like nausea, cold sweat, dizziness, or shortness of breath, stop using immediately and seek medical attention. If allergic reactions such as rash or hives occur, stop use, as severe cases can lead to anaphylactic shock. Additionally, hypersensitivity to sunlight may occur. Before use, always check for a history of allergy to chlorhexidine and the presence of medication hypersensitivity. There have been cases where specific antibodies were found in blood tests of patients who experienced shock from similar ingredients in the past. In case of overdose, visit a hospital for appropriate treatment, and caution should be taken as it contains alcohol. This medication is for external use on the skin only and should not be ingested or injected. If accidentally swallowed, cleanse the stomach with milk or eggs and seek hospital care. It can cause severe damage if it comes into contact with the eyes; therefore, avoid it from entering the eyes, and if contact occurs, rinse immediately with clean water. When using for a long time or on large areas, take care not to inhale the vapors, and after cleaning the skin to prevent reduced sterilization effect by soap, use this solution. This medication adheres well to cloth or gauze, so it is advisable to replace it with new solution if the concentration decreases. Additionally, as it is flammable, do not use it near flames, and ensure it is completely dried before using electrical devices.
