Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm during pregnancy, especially to the fetus and newborn, so use must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in individuals allergic to this medication or its components, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in patients with severe liver disease or bile duct obstruction. It should also not be administered to patients who are genetically unable to break down lactose. Caution is needed in elderly patients or those with high potassium levels, mild to moderate liver impairment, heart valve disease, or ischemic heart disease when using this medication. In patients with hypertension, adverse reactions occurred with a frequency similar to placebo; however, serious side effects such as angioedema, hyperkalemia, renal impairment, shock, and liver dysfunction can occur rarely, necessitating caution. Particularly, if symptoms of angioedema appear, use should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be obtained. In patients with renal impairment, it is important to regularly monitor potassium and creatinine levels. Patients with decreased blood volume or sodium deficiency may experience hypotension, so these conditions should be corrected before taking this medication. While this medication may enhance the effect when taken with other antihypertensives, caution is advised as the risk of renal function deterioration or hyperkalemia may increase when combined with certain drugs. It should not be used during pregnancy, and during breastfeeding, it is preferable to avoid administration or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established, hence it is not recommended. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur, requiring immediate treatment and monitoring of the patient's status. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and must be stored sealed until just before administration.
