Precautions

This medication contains the ingredient R-Lipoic Acid Thioester; individuals allergic to this ingredient, thioctic acid, or other excipients should not take it. Additionally, this medication contains Yellow No. 4 (Tartrazine); patients who have had allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to this ingredient should use it with caution. During use, various side effects may occur, such as sensory abnormalities, pain, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and cough, with rare but serious symptoms like kidney stones or facial swelling potentially occurring. After long-term use, symptoms such as muscle pain, decreased appetite, insomnia, dyspepsia, skin rash, and hypoglycemia may appear, so any unusual symptoms should prompt immediate consultation with a physician. This medication may worsen neurological symptoms when taken with alcohol, so diabetic neuropathy patients are advised to avoid alcohol consumption. Moreover, taking this medication with iron or magnesium preparations, or milk, may hinder the absorption of the drug; therefore, the timing of administration should be adjusted accordingly. When taking diabetes medications simultaneously, there is a risk of blood sugar becoming too low, thus blood sugar levels should be regularly monitored, and medication dosages adjusted as needed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should carefully consider the benefits and risks of this medication and take it according to a physician’s directions, and children under 18 years should generally not use it due to a lack of experience. In cases of overdose, severe poisoning symptoms and life-threatening conditions may occur, so immediate hospital care for professional treatment is required. Lastly, this medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and should be kept in a safe place out of the reach of children; transferring it to other containers should be avoided.
