Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

- Antisepsis of the surgeon’s hands and arms: Take 5 mL of this medication and rub it thoroughly on the hands and arms for about 5 minutes to produce sufficient foam, then rinse thoroughly with flowing water. - Antisepsis of the surgical site: Either apply this medication directly or use an appropriate amount to rub thoroughly to produce sufficient foam, then wipe with sterile gauze.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For instance, individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients, those with thyroid dysfunction, patients with impaired kidney function, infants less than 6 months old, herpes dermatitis patients, and patients undergoing or recently having undergone radioactive iodine treatment should not use this medication. Additionally, caution should be exercised when using this medication in elderly patients with serious illnesses or a history of thyroid disease or renal failure. Rarely, allergic reactions such as dyspnea and urticaria may occur when using this medication, thus it should be discontinued immediately if such symptoms appear. Pain, itching, and rashes may occur on the skin, and prolonged use may delay wound healing, so it should be stopped if symptoms are severe. When treating burns, using a large amount may lead to electrolyte imbalances or kidney dysfunction, thus caution is required. Moreover, prolonged use may lead to changes in thyroid hormone levels. This medication can interfere with thyroid diagnostic tests, so tests should be conducted after a 1-2 week interval post-administration, with attention to thyroid function changes. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid long-term or extensive use of this medication, as it may affect the thyroid function of the fetus or newborn, and thyroid function tests for the infant are recommended. Excessive use or ingestion of this medication may lead to serious symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, dizziness, and dyspnea, so caution is necessary. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment should be sought. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it does come into contact, rinse immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other medications, and the affected area should be cleaned before application.

Drug interactions

This medication should not be used in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide. Consult with a doctor or pharmacist when using it together with lithium preparations, chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine, alkaline substances, mercury-containing preparations, or enzyme-containing wound healing agents.

Storage

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in an opaque container that prevents light exposure. Additionally, it is important to store it at room temperature, specifically between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius, for safe handling.
