Treatment must be initiated by a physician experienced in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer's dementia and only when a caregiver can regularly verify the patient's medication intake. This medication can be taken regardless of food intake. Dosage escalation: The maximum daily dosage is 20 mg, and to minimize the risk of adverse reactions, the dosage should be increased by 5 mg weekly over the first 3 weeks. First week (Days 1-7): Administer 5 mg daily for 7 days. Second week (Days 8-14): Administer 10 mg daily (5 mg twice daily) for 7 days. Third week (Days 15-21): Administer 15 mg daily (10 mg in the morning, 5 mg in the evening) for 7 days. From the fourth week onward: Administer 20 mg daily (10 mg twice daily). The recommended maintenance dose is 20 mg daily (10 mg twice daily).

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to any component of this drug or have severe liver or kidney dysfunction. Patients with allergies to soybean oil, soy, or peanuts should also avoid this medication. Caution is advised for individuals with a history of epilepsy or seizures, or those prone to seizures. Additionally, taking this medication with certain drugs such as Amantadine, Ketamine, or Dextromethorphan may increase the risk of side effects and should be avoided together. Be cautious if the acidity of urine may change or if there are recent heart problems, hypertension, or metabolic disorders related to fats. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur, and if symptoms are severe, medical consultation should be sought. Particularly, those at risk of fat overload should regularly monitor their blood fat levels and adjust the dosage if necessary. This drug may interact with other medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers about any other medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this drug with caution, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while on this medication. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established, and thus it should not be used in this population. Overdose may result in central nervous system symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms, and in such cases, immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. Finally, this medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. Lastly, store this medication out of the reach of children, and keep it in its original container to maintain quality.
