How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 480 milligrams of thioctic acid trometamol salt once daily with plenty of water, approximately 30 minutes before breakfast.

Precautions

This medicine contains Altioktic Acid Trometamol, and it should not be administered to patients who are hypersensitive to this ingredient or any other excipients in this medication. While taking this medicine, mild to moderate adverse reactions such as sensory abnormalities, pain, headache, constipation, and dry mouth may occur. Rarely, serious adverse reactions such as nephrolithiasis and facial edema have also been reported, so caution is necessary. For patients with diabetic neuropathy, alcohol consumption can interfere with the effectiveness of this medication, so it is advisable to avoid alcohol as much as possible, even during drug-free periods. This medicine should not be taken concurrently with iron, magnesium preparations, or dairy products containing metals, as insoluble complexes may form in the body. If this medicine is taken 30 minutes before breakfast, it is safer to take iron or magnesium preparations at lunch or dinner. Also, this medication may increase the blood sugar-lowering effect when taken with insulin or other oral diabetes medications, so blood sugar levels should be monitored regularly, and dosage adjustments of diabetes medications may be necessary if needed. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their physician regarding the use of this medication, and it should be administered with caution considering the benefits and risks of the medication. The use of this medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age due to insufficient experience with its use. In case of overdose, severe toxicity may occur, so if suspected, seek appropriate treatment immediately at a hospital. This medication should be stored at temperatures not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and kept in a secure place out of reach of children; transferring to other containers may adversely affect quality.
