How it is given

Adult administration

Usually, 1 vial is administered to the knee joint or shoulder joint once a week for 3 consecutive weeks in adults, but the frequency may be adjusted based on symptoms. This medication should be administered strictly under aseptic conditions into the joint.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to any of its components. Caution should be exercised in patients who have had allergies to other medications or have liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease. Additionally, if there are skin lesions or infections at the injection site, the condition should be carefully checked before administration. Severe allergic reactions including shock may occur, so patients should be closely monitored after administration, and if any unusual symptoms appear, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be provided. Allergic symptoms such as swelling, redness, itching, or rash around the face or eyes may occur, so if these symptoms appear, stop using the medication and consult with a healthcare professional. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, or pressure may occur at the joint where the injection is given, so patients should be prepared for these symptoms. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and fever may also occur rarely, so inform a healthcare professional if these symptoms arise. Administering this medication to inflamed joints may worsen the inflammation, so it is advisable to use it after the inflammation has subsided. It is important to stabilize the joint area after administration and ensure that the medication does not leak out of the joint. This medication should be administered under strict aseptic conditions, and if symptoms do not improve, administration should be stopped after three doses. If there is fluid accumulation in the joint, it is advisable to drain the fluid as needed before administration. This medication should not be injected intravenously or directly into the eye, and using a needle with a gauge of approximately 22-23 is appropriate. Also, care should be taken as precipitate may form if used with sterilizing disinfectants. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, as its safety during pregnancy is not established, and only when the benefits outweigh the risks. During breastfeeding, this medication may be transmitted through breast milk, so it is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during treatment. Safety has not been established in children, so it should be used with caution only if necessary. Elderly patients may have diminished bodily functions, so special precautions should be taken when using this medication.
