This medication is used for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections, including initial and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores.

How to use

Adult use

This medication should be applied to the affected area approximately every 4 hours, 5 times a day. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if not healed after 5 days of use, it can be used for an additional 5 days.

Precautions

This medication is a topical cream containing acyclovir and should only be applied directly to the skin. Do not use this medication if you have hypersensitivity to acyclovir or have had allergic reactions in the past, and it is particularly advisable for nursing women and children not to use this medication. Individuals with weakened immune systems, such as AIDS patients or bone marrow transplant recipients, should consult a healthcare professional before using this medication. When using this medication, if there are ulcers in the genital area, it may cause discomfort or pain, so caution is advised. Additionally, side effects such as temporary stinging, mild pain, dermatitis, rash, itching, swelling, and skin discoloration may occur; if symptoms worsen, discontinue use and consult a physician.
