Prevention of skin infections before surgery and injection
This medication is used to disinfect the patient's skin before surgery to prevent infections. It is also used to clean and disinfect the patient's skin before the insertion of a syringe needle or catheter.
Apply to the disinfected area.
This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergy to chlorhexidine or isopropanol or in affected areas. It should not be used for disinfecting surgical instruments. Care should be taken when using it directly on critical nerve organs such as the brain, spinal cord, eyes, or ears, as this may cause hearing loss or neurological disorders. It is safe not to use this medication on genital mucosa or other mucosal areas. This medication should not be used in infants under 2 months old. Patients with a history of allergies to other medications or allergic diseases such as asthma should use this medication with caution. Rarely, a severe allergic reaction (shock) may occur when using this medication, so if symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, shortness of breath, or skin redness appear, the use should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Allergic reactions such as rashes or hives may also occur, so use should be discontinued if such symptoms arise. Before using this medication, it is important to inform healthcare providers if there has been any history of allergy to chlorhexidine products and to confirm whether there is an allergic constitution. In case of overdose, it's essential to visit a hospital immediately, considering the amount of alcohol contained in this medication. This medication is an external agent meant for skin application only and should not be ingested or injected. If accidentally ingested, the stomach should be cleansed using milk or eggs, and appropriate treatment should be taken. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, as it can cause severe corneal damage; if it does enter the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. When using over long periods or on large areas, care should be taken to avoid inhaling vapors. After washing the skin with soap, it should be rinsed thoroughly to prevent residues from remaining before using this medication, thus maintaining its antibacterial effect. This medication adheres well to fibers or cloths, so when using a solution-soaked cloth, frequent supply of fresh solution is necessary to maintain effective concentration. This medication is flammable, so it should not be used near open flames, and it must be thoroughly dried before using electrical appliances for safety.
